Description
In partnership with the Durham Flight Centre, Canadian Flight Trainers offers students the opportunity to study from the comfort of their own home while still learning high quality relevant material. Designed by industry scholars, the courses are taught by an experienced airline pilot, Class 1 Flight Instructor, and former Class 1 Aerobatics Instructor.
What is the advantage?
By enrolling in this course, instructors at Durham Flight Centre will have access to your course progress before and during your training. Students who progress through their ground school sooner, obtain their ROC-A, and obtain a Transport Canada Medicalย will be given priority on the student waitlist.
Since flight instructors at Durham Flight Centre have access to your progress, it allows them the opportunity to tie ground school knowledge into their flight instruction without any additional effort from you. Instructors can also identify weak areas and help you along where you both see fit.
What am I paying for? 9 months, 12 months, 1 month?
The ground school is a self paced program designed to get you from zero to a private pilot or from a fresh private pilot to an industry ready commercial pilot.
Private Pilot Option – 12 Months
Durham Flight Center is currently operating with a waitlist for students. 12 months of ground school access will give you enough time to access and study the necessary material before, during, and towards the end of your training. Private pilot students should aim to finish the ground school examinations (included in the ground school) towards the middle to end of their training for optimal results on the Transport Canada licensing examinations.
For students who do not finish within this timeframe, we are able to offer a monthly subscription of $34.95 until cancelled by the student. This 1 month extension is only available to students who have already enrolled in a ground school with Canadian Flight Trainers.
Commercial Pilot Options – 4 or 9 Months
The difference between the two choices is the length of access time you are paying for. One course gives you 4 months of access and the other 9 months of access. Then, it is your responsibility to complete the ground school within that time frame. We recommend full-time students enrol in the 4 month option and everyone else enrol in the 9 month option. Students can change from 4 months to 9 months upon request.
For students who do not finish within this timeframe, we are able to offer a monthly subscription of $34.95 until cancelled by the student. This 1 month extension is only available to students who have already enrolled in a ground school with Canadian Flight Trainers.
What about my letter of recommendation?
Students who qualify on the Canadian Flight Trainers sample examinations are eligible to receive a letter of recommendation directly from us. Students who do not meet our minimum requirements will have to discuss potential solutions with their flight instructors. Note that there are minimum requirements as required by Transport Canada to write an official licensing examination. Additional details are available on our Letter of Recommendation Policy.
How much does it cost to go to flight school in Toronto?
